Most big, central air conditioning systems are very complex to install thus an expert in the systems is the only person capable of doing the job. However, when it is a small system example the window air conditioners, you can install the unit on your own by following the instructions manuals. There are also a few helpful Mesa HVAC installation and repair tips to consider.

Systems are of different sizes to suit different needs. When choosing a system, you thus need to consider the size of your home and the window where the device needs to be placed to ensure they are equivalent to the size of the unit. Before you decide to install a device, you need to investigate whether you need to obtain any authorization.

After purchasing the device and any authorization needed, you can now install the unit. The main step before actual installation is gathering the things you need for the installation. A few tools include metal brackets, measuring tape, support frames, caulking gun and waterproof caulk, some screwdrivers and foam insulation strips. All these tools are very important.

After gathering the tools, start by setting up the mounting hardware. The common hardware used in mounting are the sill mounted supports. Before you set up, the mounts ensure you first open the windows to prevent breakage. The mounting process is clearly described in a step by step manner in the instructions manual provided by the manufacturer.

The next step after mounting is screwing on the brackets. Some brackets can be screwed with only one type of screws, example the metal brackets, which are only screwed using sheet metal screws. Once you screw the brackets, you can then place the device on it. Depending on the weight of a system, you can do this yourself or ask for help. Most importantly ensure the bracket is tilted to allow condensation.

The latest version of air conditioners have pockets to help you slide the system easily onto the opening of the window. The pockets are located under the device. You need to slide the window above the unit to set it in place. After this, open the extensions on the side of the device after ensuring the units between the unit and window are closed, then fasten the extensions onto the window sash using angle brackets.

The last stage involves securing the window sashes and sealing the gaps using foam strips. The sealing is very important as it ensures the device receives adequate installation. Some manufacturers will instruct you to caulk the unit outside. To start the working of the system after installation, you only need to plug in the device to a power source.

With the above pointers and the instruction manual, you can be sure that you will never go wrong in installing the system on your own. However, you first need to assess the electrical wiring in your home. This is meant to ensure that you set up the system in a position that will allow easy plugging of the system to a power source.
