Christians who want to grow spiritually must make out time to listen to God's word. This is why several missionaries have taken up the mandate to print Bibles and produce music tapes, tracts and Christian sermon DVDs. Christian sermons that make sense are those that include figures such as Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Samson and Jesus Christ. The lives and stories of these men are capable of inspiring any believer who yearns for the truth.

Abraham is regarded in Christianity as the father of faith. This may be as a result of his unwavering trust in God even in his old age. Most of the inspiration about Abraham can be drawn from the fact that he believed in God when he was told that he would have a son in his old age. Most preachers also like to talk about his reliance on God even to the point of attempting to sacrifice his only son after the prophecy came to pass.

When the Bible talks about being vessels unto honor, it refers to people like Isaac who was the father of Jacob, the one who was later renamed Israel. Another important point to note about Isaac is his level of obedience. He was ready to give his life as a sacrifice at Mount Moriah so that his father Abraham could give a sacrifice to God.

Talking about Jacob is something many Bible scholars love to do because of the many attributes in his life. Jacob had the quality of never relenting and fighting for his blessings. Christians who won't take this for granted will also see that to get God's blessings really demands violently fighting for it in prayers. Jacob was the father of twelve children that later became the twelve tribes of Israel.

Joseph was second to the last born of Jacob's children. His name is often a reminder for believers to desist from sexual immorality just as he did when Potiphar's wife begged to lie with him. Messages on abstaining from fornication, adultery and integrity can be prepared by using Joseph as a point of reference.

Picking up DVDs that center on Moses will probably make you understand why he was considered the greatest prophet that has ever emerged. Moses was the first man to see the back of God and the one who led the children of Israel out of bondage in Egypt following the death of Joseph and the emergence of a Pharaoh who did not know his story. More about his personality and why he was not allowed to enter the Promised Land can be heard on sermons.

Samson was a judge for the Israelites. He is a subject of interest because of his unequaled strength. The positive and negative effects of Samson's strength and how he could have used it more effectively to the service of the people and God is a necessary topic for Christians to consider.

Most DVD messages are centered on the teachings and personality of Jesus Christ. It is good to buy such items because they reveal the way to the Father in very clear terms. The essence of salvation and the way to go to Heaven are necessary teachings one should get while there is still enough time.
