Weed is known to create an everlasting problem to lawn owners. It tends to invade in ecosystems of other plants. It reaches a point that it replaces the native plant species. The aesthetic value of the front and back yards is diminished after commencement of the shrub encroachment. Luckily, every problem has a solution and in this case there is an organic lawn weed killer that aids in dealing with the problem.

They grow in any condition that seems favorable. For example, when there is moisture, sunlight and space on the front yard that would be enough for it to grow. In other words, these herbs are opportunist and whenever an appropriate condition arises they start invading. However, some reasons like wet yards or improper nutrition may favor specific herbs. It is therefore important to properly manage the yards to bridge the gap for such species encroachment.

Some individuals may decide to dig up the shrubs with their hands. It is a good way to rid yards of intrusive species but it consumes a lot of energy and time. Additionally, the hand picking process can become stressful if the shrub has vigorously spread. Therefore, an alternative method can be used, that is, using chemicals. Still, the alternate is to be conducted at a precise period for best results.

In general, the best time to apply these killers is during the summer months. At this time of the year the species is usually emerging vigorously making it the ideal time. Additionally, it is advised to smear nitrogen fertilizer about 10 days before the operation begins.

Some of the pesticides used include:

Acetic acid. It effective in causing dryness to plants hence their death. The limitation of vinegar is that, it is non-selective. This means it kills both invasive and normal plants. As a result, one should be very careful when applying it. To be specific, using a brush to paint the acid would be best.

Herbicidal soaps. They are non- selective and tends to break and interfere with the protective layer of leaves in plants. This causes dehydration and death of leaves. Unfortunately, they effectively work on newly upcoming shrubs and fail to kill roots for older and mature ones.

Corn gluten meal. It is most effective in specific environmental conditions and on weed saplings.

Special instructions are to be followed during the chemical application. First, when the chemical is in liquid form, the weather condition should be partly sunny, cloudy and not raining. This assures the chemical remains intact. If using granular products, water should be smeared when application process ends.

After the process is done, one should come up with preventive measures to avoid re- emergence of weed. Example, when mowing the yard, one should ensure the grass is not cut too short which end up becoming weak and feeble hence attracting weeds. Second, quality fertilizer should be applied in garden lawns to boost the health of plants.

To conclude, the pest problem can be solved but yard owners should be responsible and ensure the same problem does not bother them in future by initiating a preventive measure to the problem.
