If you are in the market for a canine companion you know there are many different breeds that you can choose from. If you have been doing your research, you may have seen Norwich Terriers for Sale. These can be fantastic companions but you do need to make sure it is the right breed for you. Here is what you need to know.

You may have never heard of this breed and there is a reason. Although some breeds of terrier are quite common, others like the Norwich are not. Still others may be mistaken for another type of terrier altogether, such as a Cairn. The last reason why you may not have seen one of these is that they tend to be born in smaller litters. Additionally, a female may not be able to have many litters as she may need to have them delivered by c-section.

Some dogs are easier to train than others. This may be because they are more laid back while others are more intelligent and will retain commands. Terriers can be very smart, for example, but also have strong wills. This may mean that they learn commands but do not always follow them. It is definitely something to consider when making your final selection.

If you want a small, compact canine, this can be a fantastic choice. They only tend to weigh ten to twelve pounds when full grown. This can be fantastic for someone who lives in a small apartment or house. It is also great for individuals who want to travel on a plane or other type of transport and bring their dog along.

The good news is that they are not overly prone to serious health issues. Some will develop cataracts which can eventually rob them of their sight. Other diseases that are common to other breeds are not as common to this particular breed of canine. Of course, as with any dog, making sure they see a veterinarian for routine checkups is important.

There are breed specific websites that are a good starting point. They will often list the good and bad qualities of a particular breed. Make sure that you are finding ones that list the positives and negatives. Speaking with a veterinarian about your options can be a great way to find important information that may influence your choice.

Many breeds have websites dedicated to them. These can be a fantastic place to start to get general information as well as possibly finding puppies or dogs for sale. Keep in mind that there may be different prices for dogs that are "show quality" than for pups that are meant for pups.

A new puppy or dog can be fun and exciting. Its not a bad idea to watch a litter of pups playing before you make your choice. This is because some will be more dominant than others. This is not limited to gender. You want to make sure that the personality fits as well as breed itself.
