This can be a simple process with most machines and they are readily available for most of models. You do not necessarily have to be a member to buy but it can sometimes be worth signing up and they will be happy to help if they can.

When you have purchased your spares and fitted them to the bike it can be worth keeping the old one if it can be refurbished. The parts can then be sold on to another biker or you can keep them in your garage in case they are needed in the future. When you recondition any items such as fuel tanks and brake components, it is a good idea to have them inspected for safe operation.

When you have to replace parts it is always preferable to use genuine Harley stock. Many auto companies produce aftermarket items which will do the job but using these will affect the value of your bike. Another thing to consider is that some bikers clubs will not let you to enter a machine into competitions or shows if it is are not original.
