Certified accountant is the common term for a person who has been qualified as one of the accountants. For them to get their certification for CPA, they are required to pass the accountant examination and as well as attaining additional education and experience to become a member and to obtain the certificate. For those who failed the examination and were not able to experience an on the job work, their status will be as a CPA inactive.

There are many states who are prohibiting the use of the certified accountant term to persons who are not verified yet as a CPA in that state. It means that they are not supposed to be called until they are not going to obtain their license or certificate. The certified public accountant San Luis Obispo relates to the services of assurance or commonly known as the financial audit services.

In order to become certified, the candidate must pass the Uniform CPA Examination. The eligibility of an individual to sit in the exam was determined by the boards of accountancy in the state. All states are adopting the 150 rule, which means to have a 150 college semester units.

Most of the time, the 150 rules requires another 1 year of education after accomplishing the four years of the college degree. In most universities, the 5 years degree for both the bachelors and masters have been offered now for students so that they can accomplish these two just in one time. This also allows the students to receive the needed 150 hours for their eligibility.

Certification and licensing requirements are needed as well but these varies in different places. The requirements of the qualification are examination, education, and experience. Requirement for education should be completed so students can take the uniform exam. In two tier states, if the student passes the examination, the student will be certified directly. And if or she accomplishes the given amount of working experience, the student will be given his or her license.

While in other states, they are using the one tier system wherein an individual is both certified and licensed at the same time when both the exam and working experience have been met. Unlike other professionals, the accountants are required to have a continuous education for courses towards the development of continuous professionalism. The requirements for this varies in different states.

In some states, they may require a 40 hour professional ethics every one year. And this may be fulfilled through involving in seminars and self studying through watching videos, online courses, or textbooks. This means to say that the board may accept and credit requirements which are internet based and also credits self studying.

There are many designations in places who have lower tier for qualifications. Some lower tier terms are licensed public accountant or public accountant. Some other designations include registered accounting practitioner and accounting practitioner.

These terms are usually designated for licensing the non CPA accountants. These accountants have been practicing before a state of law. Most states are prohibiting the designations of PA or LPA for persons who are not being verified as PA in the state.
