A wedding planning binder or other planner can help you stay on track, keep tabs on your budget, and ensure that you do not overlook a single detail. Using a planner isn't something that everyone is used to, however. If you want to use one of these helpful tools, here are some top tips that will make sure you do so as effectively as possibly.

While wedding apps and planning programs are becoming increasingly possible they aren't always the right choice for every bride. They don't have a way for brides to keep copies of contracts or receipts close at hand, something which can be handy if you suddenly need to deal with a service provider. Many brides like the idea of using a combination of electronic and paper record keeping.

Some people want a bound book rather than a binder. While any printed organizer can work it may be easier to use a binder than a book. You can rearrange different sections or add more pages or folders if you need more space for extra information. If you know that you need more space for guest lists or other information you can add pages to these sections rather than being limited to the space that a bound book would give you.

Separate sections that can be customized will be very helpful when it comes to staying organized. If you don't like the tabs or sections that come in a prefabricated planning binder you can always change the names and switch things around. You can even add in extra sections as needed so that every topic is covered. Spending a little time looking through your binder before you start using it.

A good planner will have areas where you can store pieces of paper that relate to your big day. For example, some will have clear sheets where you can store business cards. These are great because it will allow you to see contact information and other details without putting them in and out of your planner. Sleeves that hold signed contracts and receipts are also very handy.

There are many places that you can look for planners that will suit your needs. Wedding supply stores and dress shops may have models that you can purchase. Book stores and craft supply shops may also have versions that you can look. It is a good idea to see if you can look at an open model so that you can see what the inside looks like. That way you can tell if it is in a format that you will want to use.

Some people do not find a binder that they like. Instead, they use one of the many printable templates that can be found online. If you are thinking about printing out pages make sure that you choose layouts that cover the topics you need and that have enough space that you can fill in all of the pertinent details.

Of course, none of this will help if you don't actually use the binder you have. Getting in the habit of transferring your information as it is available will help ensure that you do not overlook important details. This can help make sure that your big day goes as planned and the chance of unexpected surprises will be reduced.
